  • Overview

    The SAM Consultant is responsible for managing new and current customer licenses. This role will assist customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing entitlement and avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices while expanding SoftwareONE’s licensing opportunities and building more profitable, long-term relationships with our customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide on-going support of customer’s entitlement (all publishers)
    • Import licenses and agreements into the entitlement database
    • Reconcile software with licenses
    • Analyze reconciliation for different publishers
    • Create customized reports and comparison for cost saving.
    • Provide recommendations on how to license, reconcile, and re-harvest licensing entitlement
    • Work with software publishers and customers to retrieve the correct licenses and agreement base
    • Develop and share SAM best practices and strategy for managing entitlement
    • Support SAM Projects, rollout and transfer of entitlement
    • Document operational concepts and workflows
    • Analyze customer license contracts
    • Provide internal and external user training workshops
    • Direct customer contact; working at customer location

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

     

            Highly motivated and result oriented

    • Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Demonstrated problem solving and consultative skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Skilled in business process analysis
    • Licensing knowledge and product use rights knowledge for Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec, Adobe, etc.
    • Software Asset Management knowledge and experience
    • SAM accreditation preferred
    • Basic technology skills in system platforms (Microsoft) and client and server environment
