  • Overview

    The Digital Workspace-focused Senior Consultant is a lead role within the North America Technology Services team with comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of business use cases, technical concepts, practices and procedures related to end-user computing environments.

    This role will be the primary technical lead for architecture principles, design concepts, standards, and product selection regarding end user computing concepts and will function as a key thought leader within the Future Workplace team on these topics. The role will focus on customer use cases for deploying enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions, server-based desktop computing, Windows image deployment, and other related solutions. In addition, this role will play an active role in the deployment of these same solutions to SoftwareONE customers.

     

    The SoftwareONE Future Workplace team focuses on enterprise cloud-enabled computing solutions that include cloud identity, messaging, collaboration, mobility, desktop deployment, and security, with more solutions to follow in the near future. This is an exciting, high-growth area within SoftwareONE’s professional services business.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Design deliver, and support complex end-user computing solutions for SoftwareONE customers
    • Analyze business and user requirements
    • Translate complex user and business requirements into functional architecture
    • Provide expert guidance to customers, driving solution architecture, and ensure solution strategy is optimally aligned with business strategy
    • Create detailed design and architecture documentation
    • Support project management team and other consultants in the planning, management, and delivery of customer engagements
    • Develop and write proposal templates and other required documentation for new solution offerings
    • Create, maintain, and update document templates, architecture, and standards
    • Support sales teams with effort estimation, proposal creation and/or review, and other pre-sales activities
    • Coordinate and hand over repeatable processes to remote service teams
    • Mentor and coach high-potential individual contributors
    • Maintain and report on service delivery and project status
    • Assist with end user and technical administrator training, where needed
    • Maintain and acquire advanced level technical certifications in assigned area
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

    Qualifications

     

    Required Qualifications:

     

    • Documented successful deployments of enterprise-wide advanced end-user computing and/or mobility solutions, preferably including rollouts of at least 2,000 endpoints
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience designing and delivering solutions in the end-user computing space (desktop image deployment, mobility solutions, VDI, etc.)
    • A minimum of 5 years of consulting experience, preferably as a systems integrator or as part of a professional services organization
    • Successful deployment and/or migration experience with at least two of the following types of solutions in large customer environments:
      • Windows OS image build and deployment
      • Mobile device management (MDM)
      • Mobile application management
      • Application packaging and layering
      • Server-based desktop computing (VDI, RDS, etc.)
    • Advanced-level certifications from at least one of the following software vendors:
      • Microsoft
      • VMware
      • Citrix
    • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to independently conduct meetings with, end user level, engineering-level, management-level or executive level customer personnel in regard to positioning sales and solutions.
    • Ability to lead, mentor, and coach high-performing individual contributors
    • Ability to work independently and stay organized when assigned to multiple projects concurrently
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
    • A professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards customers, partners and peers
    • Demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective
    • Ability to develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures
    • Ability to develop architecture design deliverables that map customer business requirements to solutions and technologies.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% (Note: In addition to the locations listed, other locations within the continental US will be considered as well, as long as the candidate has access to a major airport.)

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with an emphasis on information technology or an equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Project management and/or product management experience
    • In addition to the solutions listed previously, experience with the following technologies and solutions is also desirable:

      • VMware Workspace ONE
      • Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) solutions, including Intune
      • Microsoft SCCM
      • User File system and Profile Management
      • User Environment Management
      • Desktop Performance Management
      • SSO and identity management solutions
      • Windows Autopilot
      • PowerShell and VBScript
      • Microsoft group policy objects (GPOs)
      • Windows Registry
      • Microsoft Office 365 solutions
