IT Infrastructure represents a key area in the organization’s ability to keep pace with the IT needs of Internal Users, Direct Customers, VARassist Partners and Strategic Publisher Partners. SoftwareONE Business IT focuses on proven ITIL based processes. As part of a global IT organization, this position works in the Service Design and Service Transition processes area and reports directly to the 3rd Level Teamlead. 


  • Actively analyze, design, implement and deliver IT Services and Solutions to the business
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to the IT team and internal business to ensure technology strategy is optimally aligned with business strategy
  • Run projects in a fast-paced environment (independently or within a team)
  • Perform Change Management activities following ITIL standards
  • Independently define and create solution implementation or application designs using architectural principles and design patterns
  • Design, deploy, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices and established standards
  • Create automated functional and integration testing of the solutions
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and resolve issues, often under time constraints
  • Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction
  • Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices
  • Assist in transitioning the services to the service operations and service improvement team
  • Work closely with peers in project or assigned tasks to meet group and departmental goals and improve processes and practices
  • Keep pace with rapid changes in the on-premises and cloud space, including the introduction and deployment of new platforms and tools
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study and other means available


  • 5+ years of experience in designing, planning and implementing complex IT solutions within medium to large organizations (>2,000 users)
  • Expert knowledge of Core Infrastructure, Virtualization and Systems including: Windows Server 2008-2016 and VMware ESXi 5+
  • Experienced with storage technologies including SAN and NAS (NetApp is a plus)
  • Knowledge in network infrastructure including firewalls, switches and wireless
  • Knowledge in Cloud Solutions (Public/Private/Hybrid) with AWS and Azure
  • Expert knowledge of PowerShell is required
  • Experience with defining and implementing Performance and Event Monitoring
  • Experience in Capacity Planning and Management
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Automation and Orchestration is a plus
  • Understanding principles of multi-tier, compute, network, storage and virtualization concepts
  • Ability to translate requirements into tangible results
  • Certifications:
    • ITIL Service Management Foundation Certification is a plus
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA) are a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (cross-cultural)
  • Good command in English, further foreign languages are a plus
  • Ability to work in an international IT environment

  • Willingness to travel (approx. 10%) and participate in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation
