Overview

Summary

Working in a team environment, the Engineer - Technology Services (“Engineer”) will be responsible for providing technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. The Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs

 

 

The highly motivated individual will maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.

 

The Engineer will have a focus on delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical Subject Matter expertise to Architects to ensure solution strategy is optimally aligned with business strategy.
  • Upgrade and migration of client Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Able to independently complete solution implementation.
  • Able to learn quickly, and keep pace with rapid changes in the cloud space, including the introduction and deployment of new Cloud platforms and tools.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Highly motivated and results oriented.

 

  • 1+ years of customer interaction through IT Service Desk or Operations Management role.
  • A passion for technology and personal development.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and think on your feet to find a solution to a problem.
  • Certifications from Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, Amazon or Cisco would be advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of at one of the following technology areas
    • Core infrastructure, virtualisation and systems
    • Cloud solutions (Public, Private, Hybrid)
    • Network and security
    • Unified Communications
    • Mobility and WAN
    • Identity management
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP and other network protocols.
  • Scripting and programming experience/background in PowerShell is desired.
  • Contributes to knowledge sharing within a community (e.g. team, practice, or project).
  • Re-uses existing Knowledge Management to accelerate solutions delivery.
  • Must obtain and maintain vendor certifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a technology consulting environment that requires regular (40%) travel.
