Overview

Working in a team environment, the Technology Services – Senior Engineer (“Senior Engineer”) will be responsible for providing technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support in the creation and delivery of Microsoft solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs.

 

The highly motivated individual will maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.

 

The Senior Engineer will provide input to technical solutions throughout the planning, design and implementation project phases.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical Subject Matter expertise to Architects to ensure solution strategy is optimally aligned with business strategy.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of work breakdown structures.
  • Able to independently complete solution implementation for Microsoft workloads
  • Able to learn quickly, and keep pace with rapid changes in the cloud space, including the introduction and deployment of new Cloud platforms and tools.
  • Create automated functional and integration testing of the solutions.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Highly motivated and results oriented

 

  • Experience in a Systems Integrator or within a Medium size organisation (>2000 users) implementing complex IT solutions
    • Certified in Microsoft Office 365 through “70-346: Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements”
    • Certified in Microsoft Office 365 through “70-347: Enabling Office 365 Services”
  • Desirable to be certified in Microsoft: Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions

 

  • Advanced knowledge of at least two of the following technology areas
    • Core infrastructure: virtualisation and Infrastructure as a Service
    • Network and security
    • Unified Communications
    • Mobility and WAN
    • Identity management
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP and other network protocols.
  • Scripting and programming experience/background in PowerShell is desired.

 

Role Expectations

  • Contributes to knowledge sharing within a community (e.g. team, practice, or project).
  • Re-uses existing Knowledge Management to accelerate solution delivery.
  • Must obtain and maintain vendor certifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a technology consulting environment that requires regular (40%) travel.
